Our friendship, like our business was built on our mutual gift of collaboration for all manner of get-togethers, say “party” and we are immediately in planning mode. It was at one of these parties, a Fall Tea, on a hazy autumn afternoon as we sipped London Fog’s with a group of dear friends, that our business began. White lace swung from the high beams, vases were filled with fresh flowers, and delicate tea cups were arranged around the table, tea plates filled with an assortment of tea sandwiches, scones, lemon curd and fruit tartlets. Motioning at the setting, one of our guests asked nonchalantly, why we didn’t do this for a living. Laughing, we waved the question off, but soon after realized that our friend had sparked an interesting idea. Why not host tea parties? After a few months of designing menus and collecting china, we opened Set for Tea, and would go on to host many tea parties over the next few years.

In 2009, we were asked to design and cater a friend’s wedding! We of course said yes, and party planning mode took over. We switched gears and turned our attention to all the details of a beautiful wedding, not realizing that we would absolutely love the wedding scene and would want to refocus our business in that specific direction.

We re-opened later that year as La Couronne, and have spent the past five years helping brides make their wedding dreams come alive with gourmet, hand crafted foods, and table settings.
